Located between Millbrae and South San Francisco, San Bruno is perhaps best known as the city next to San Francisco International Airport. San Bruno became an official municipality in 1914 but remained primarily rural until the 1940s, when a housing boom transformed the city. The population stabilized again during the 1960s.
